The Boss (Wednesday, 06 Oct)

(12:15pm)

Cabinet meeting should be over by now. I hope KJ got my SMS about fixing that bloody LKY. This boy has talent. He did a good job with that pseudo-intellectual RY. Look where he is now ... dancing with those Orang Asli in mengkuang hats.

This LKY fella really got on my nerves. First, he ticked off the BH reporter in front of everyone. Luckily only Malaysiakini reported on it. Then he said this Jeff fella has been ..'fair'. FAIR??? Fair to whom? Did this Jeff fella even think about MY feelings when he put up pages after pages about me? And what does LKY know about the media? He was selling palm oil for donkey's years, for heaven's sakes. I had to order a spin -- just say this fella is a joker at press conferences.

Got this SMS today. "Read SCMP". Sorry ... but I'm not going to part with my ringgits just to read some Hong Kong paper.

Anyway, I'm now looking at today's BH. Masterful, I tell you -- just give these NGOs a mike and they'll sing like a bird. Losers.

I'm going have a cuppa and wait for my post-Cabinet call. What's this? Secretary not on her desk?! Where does she think she's going -- lunch?

note to self:
(1) Memo to Secretary: Last warning - Sit on desk until I say otherwise.
(2) Call RI - Make tea... kurang manis.
(3) Memo to BP, RR & Gang - Staff meeting, 4 pm.

**************

(7:30 pm)

I had a bit of a tummy ache this afternoon. Must be the meat and potatoes rendang the maid made for breakfast. That's it - out she goes and take that Meow with you.

The meeting started later than usual. I was a little emotional before that. Someone showed me this Sun fella's blog (another blog AGAIN? How many are there out there???) and said he wrote all those hurtful things like Awe&Shock; David vs Goliath; etc.

I wish I could be David...

Wasn't much of pow-wow in the war room. Figures came in ($%^&*#$%). Screenshot numbers still shooting up (@##$$%^). Someone mumbled about how hard it was to ignore all those bloody sore-loser fellas who keep talking about money politics during the assembly. I played with my magic8-ball keyring.

Then someone had a brilliant idea... why don't I start a 'bog' (or was it ... 'blog')?

Magic 8-ball said, "YES".

I told RR to look into this. Warned him that he can't use the Oxford Dictionary of Big Words for this assignment. I'm excited! I can put my last editorial for the world to see!

The Secretary was back on her desk earlier. Kononnya, her kid was sick and she'd left a note for me. She soon learnt that only I have the privilege of leaving notes for people - it's called 'The Boss' Memo'. She's not a bad sort, though I think she's still a DKL loyalist (bastard must be laughing at me now). So I made her send an SMS to AY to stop yakking about money politics. Well, she did get me my rat poison today and made excellent tea. RI's tea this morning nearly made me puke. "Special", she said, "from Ubud". Do I look as if I drink this chamomile-lemon balm-wild thyme herb #$%^& tea? You think I'm KR is it? Hmm... maybe it wasn't the meat and potatoes after all.

Funny ... no post-Cabinet call. It must have come in while I was at the gents.

KLCI down 0.02 points at 5:00pm. Business desk giving me funny looks...

note to self:
(1) Text KJ: Where does BG-L get his suits made?
(2) Call MJ's maid agency: need replacement.
(3) Have today's chi-chi tea analysed at Bukit Aman.
(4) Do not read Screenshots at home.

More comments at BolehTalkDr. Blurry is a bit blur himself and obviously knows nothing about hosting/servers besides a hosting pricelist he might have seen on the net.
He forgets to mention that bandwidth is expensive and when you reach a certain bandwidth they will charge you for every extra Mb going out.
And if the hits reach 10.000 + a day its gonna be costly. Thats a lot of bandwidt a month.
And you wanna call Kalimullah a heavyweight?? Dont make me laugh i only can pitty him, so narrow minded.

OK Albert. Let’s assume Dr. Blurry is burred. The donating publics certainly deserve to know better and I think I am in position to make a professional comment that is relatively fair and accurate. Can you please tell us,

1. Where is the server hosted, what are the facilities and what is the connection like? Is it DSL, ISDN, T1, T3 or what, and x how many?
2. How much bandwidth do you think is needed to host a blog like Screenshots? Is it 10GB, 50GB, 100GB or what? And how much are you charging for every additional GB? Please provide detailed breakdowns of the traffics and bandwidth usage and I’d appreciate any other information you may have in store.
3. Why must you buy a server when you have to pay for hosting and even if really need one … to host something like a weblog, I honestly think anything costs more than $500 is a waste of resources.

Your feedback please. Thanks.

Well observed and well commented.

Lets assumed Dr. Blurry is blurred, how about taking a further look?

"The ISA has been waved at him"
# So far only talk, no action and I think the ISA threat will not materialize ... Likely to be part of the sandiwara.

"Seems a bit bizarre that for an UMNO man as alleged Jeff might be, he is in all sorts of strife now with UMNO people - must be very lousy UMNO-provided immunity"
# I see he is not linked to BN via UMNO but most probably through Gerakan, notice what Uncle Lim Keng Yaik is doing for him now?

"Seems equally strange that as an alleged UMNO stoolie he would attack one of UMNO's ally, Ong KT of MCA"
# MCA and Gerakan aren't exactly siblings that can see eye-to-eye, are they?

"Hope it's not wrong to have "friends in the BN", cause I have some too."
# No, nothing wrong to have friends in the BN, it just mean you are an insider and most likely, a politician as well ie. not a Joe. Remember, Jeff did Political Science during his varsity days in Penang where Gerakan is based ... Are you seeing something now?

Lets see what comes out next ...

Not sure about the allegation. But somehow Jeff seems to gloat at his new found fame. Seems to be far more censorship in the comment section and hope the blog topics will not succumb to 'safer' topics since he's under the close eye of the UMNOputeras

Dave,

He's on a high right now and deservedly so. Some people might think UMNO and Islam Hadhari has created him unwittingly or otherwise. But if he's too loud, some people might take him down a peg or two. He's got world's bloggers' ears. That's either a headache or a blessing. Remember old Master Kung!

In any case, who says UMNO is racist? Haven't they now launched a non-Malay Malaysian into blogging outer space?

I say! Malaysia bolehlah!

the JO-KH conspiracy would make sense if it was simply NST (or NST & BH) vs SS. Its a bit far fetched to think KH would drag ministers into some sandiwara to boos screenshots.

Someone needs to check their jelousy pills & deposit the tin foil hat at the counter.

WHAT IF somebody had wanted to take Jeff down umpteen pegs and the thing squirts right back in his face?

Now, who would want to do that?

You'll know if we make rules and keep them!

That's one mighty long bow you're drawing re Jeff Ooi's connection with Gerakan.

As berserk said, the involvement of so many top govt people puts paid to your conspiracy theory.

I still support Dave's original analysis, that of UMNO stirring up the religious smoke to blind their suporters to money-politics, and of Kallimullah with a grudge against Jeff.

Now, Kalimuulah looks like a fool, with Screenshots reaping the unexpected fame and recognition - where previously people don't know about Jeff Ooi and Screenshots, many do now.

Berserk:

What conspiracy?

The whole world knows Kalimullah regard Jeff as a prick and in Jeff’s case, he probably may not see Kalimullah as a pain in the ass but he is trying to downplay the media controlled by Kalimullah as his buddies run a competitive newspaper called The Sun? I don’t know but one thing for sure, they don’t see each other eye-to-eye and it’s obvious to me while Kalimullah is confirmed an extension of UMNO, Jeff is almost certain a horse in the Gerakan camp. Otherwise, I too would like to have Uncle Lim (Keng Yaik)’s private number, just in case.

That being the case, what is the surprise to see Kalimullah asking his boss (Khairy in this case) to voice out an issue touching the very fundamental ideology of the Pak Lah administration ie. Islam Hadhari? Similarly, what’s the surprise to see Uncle Lim (Keng Yaik) came to his rescue?

I am still waiting for his response on my earlier query the Server Upgrade Fund which I think is both an insult to our intelligence as well as unethical …

Berserk, I also have an idea who you are …

Just like you, I do buy Dave's analysis that of UMNO stirring up the religious smoke to blind their supporters to money-politics but at the same time, I also firmly believe Jeff is a horse of Gerakan and he is taking us for a ride.

Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to run Jeff down and I think we should all support Screenshots because there isn't that many worthy platform out there for Malaysians to express their views, but I want to cautious people not to follow what he preaches blindly because he is politically obliged to Gerakan, in another word, BN. Also, I personally see he has no hesitation to swing things (even unethical) toward his personal agenda such as the Server Upgrade Fund because I believe his expenses (and beyond) is already paid for by G Berhad and Kalimullah is just another unfortunate guy who happened to come came in with the wrong idea at the wrong time that works perfectly to Jeff's agenda.

I think Jeff can be beneficial to our society, so I will always make sure he survives but I will check on him ... So, Mr. Ooi, do think twice if you are thinking of taking us for a ride again.

You know, Boss (and Cat), methinks you shouldn't enable comments for this blog.

It's pretty obvious your comment boxes are getting hijacked.

For God's sake people, this is a PARODY/SATIRE! Not a serious discussion forum! Go to jeffooi.co or your bolehtalk for that.

agree with Sashi about comment box being hijacked (i smell a sandiwara here) but don't agree about closing it down. how else can we readers show our sympathies for the poor, poor man whose face water is being felled by that "unknown blogger"?

anyway, hats off to this blogger. think it's brills! love the insights on the big man's daily thoughts at work and at home. don't get rid of Meow! can she come back to haunt him?
